| Standard Range vs High Dynamic Range (HDR) Photography In image processing, computer graphics, and photography, high dynamic range imaging (HDR) is a set of techniques that allows a greater dynamic range of luminances between light and dark areas of a scene than normal digital imaging techniques or photographic prints. This wider dynamic range can allow HDR to more accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to deep shadows. We use this HDR technique to give our viewers the best and most accurate 360° scenes. This is the most realistic representation of the scene to the actual naked eye. In the HDR version of the scene above, take a look at the sky outside, the darker shadows under the tables and the general lighting ambience. You will clearly see far more detail due to the extra information processed using the HDR. Try changing from the non HDR scene to the the HDR to see the difference. If your budget cannot stretch to the higher quality HDR, you can clearly see that the non HDR photography also does the 360° scene justice. |
